Feks :
Deltec anbefaler desuden også at køre efter afgangsvandets kH !The best way to set the reactor up is to be guided by the effluent Dkh. You want the Dkh to be between 35-50dkh. Once you reach the desired dkh take note of the internal Ph and this will be a good indicator of the correct Ph for the media.
I have always found that C+ gives good effluent Dkh at between 6.2-6.4 but this will depend on the accuracy of your probe and the amount of effluent from the reactor.
My 601s produces around 45dkh with an effluent of 90ml/min at an internal Ph of 6.2. I only run the reactor for 12 hours a day at this ph, the controller turns the CO2 off at night to offset Ph suppression.
If you set the internal Ph by the controller alone and the Ph probe isn't calibrated or faulty it could give you an inaccurate Ph reading. If the actual Ph is lower than the reported reading you may find the media turns to mush so you are best guided by the effluent Dkh when setting the reactor up.
