The thing that is making me choose the modules instead of the Deimos is the length of my aquarium at 180cm it may be a little dark each end but with the modules i can place them exactly where I want.

For a 160cm aquarium I would definately consider one of these units and if you are going to buy one then may as well get the big one than regret not getting it later on. And the touchscreen is a nice touch too.

The link I posted earlier is a 160cm aquarium with 3x120w modules over it.

I got a little issue with my aquarium and 3 lamps, because I have chosen to have a glass cross brace in the middle of the aquarium instead of two, because my plan is/was to have 2 x HQI lamps.

If I buy either 3 modules or the Demios, one of these lamps will be above the cross brace, and this will make some shadow. :(

Can you not cut the one from the middle and replace with 2? I know it would be a pain to do but it's possible. Of course that is if you decided 3 would be better than 2.

I have it the other way, I have to have 3 because I asked for 2 cross braces.

I think I will stick with my first choice which is 2 x 250W HQI + 4 x 80W T5 even that the LED's is exciting :)

140W x 3 + 80W x 2 which the Demios uses is "almost" the same Watt as the Giesemann with the above configuration I have looked at.

240W in difference, which maybe will be used for heating the water instead :)
