shimek 2013if stability means a lack of variation. It simply and patently is not stable. In fact of shallow water marine ecosystems throughout the world, coral reefs are amongst the most variable in terms of day-to-day temperature fluctuations as well as fluctuations in other parameters. If an aquarist manages some success without natural variations, they are managing those success in spite of the lack of variability, not because of it.
